Festival of Quilts 2014 / Festiwal Patchwork’a 2014 (NEC Birmingham UK)

Today a diary note … yesterday I went to the Festival of Quilts – which takes place annually at the NEC, Birmingham UK. This was a second festival I went to, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Huge amount of quilts was on display in many categories: art quilt, traditional quilt, first quilt, 2 person quilt, group quilt, miniature quilt etc. Items displayed were incredible. Below a tiny sample of what I have seen – why so few pictures?  … not every quilt is exhibited in a way that allows for a good photo to be taken and so I am sharing those that I hope gives / shows it’s beauty, uniqueness, patience, technique etc. Enjoy!

Dzis wpis do pamietnika … wczoraj pojechalam na Festival Patchwork’a – ktory odbywa sie rocznie w NEC, Birmingham, UK. To byl moj drugi festival i znowu szalenie mi sie podobalo. Mnostwo patchworkow bylo na wystawie w wielu kategoriach: sztuka, tradycyjny patchwork pierwszy patchwork, patchwork wykonany w duecie,  grupowy patchwork, miniaturkowy patchwork itd. Eksponaty byly wysmienite. Milego ogladania!

Finally – the winner of: the best in show / Wreszcie zwyciezca najlepszego patchwork’a na calej wystawie:

… I will be going next year too! 🙂

… za rok tez jade! 🙂

    • hello … yes I had a great time … overall over a thousand quilts were on display … sheer amount of colour, technique to achieve what some people do is mesmerising … would definitely recommend if anyone was considering going … 🙂

  1. wow.. what stunning displays of quilts.. very inspiring and thank you for sharing with us.. the one which one looks like a painting more than a quilt.. really a master piece work.. Marvelous.
